In 'Ensaios de Santidade' (Sanctity Rehearsals), Bonneville created an installation and a one-to-one performance for the Matadero's rooftop house. This work's central figure, one who surpasses blood relations, was Goretti: second mother, guardian angel, protector, an absolutely inescapable figure in Bonneville's life who, with one blow, opened the stagnant and stinking heart of a dying bourgeois home. The rooftop house became an intimate space, a possible refuge from family houses; haunted houses: places of horror and of suicidal impulses. It became a spatial, psychological and spiritual place where Bonneville hoped his visitors could awaken their loves that are impossible to domesticate, where they could be wounded figures, and where, although wounded, they could both head off together into a nameless night.
