hex was an electroclash band based in porto, formed around 2002-2003 by sofia arriscado, miguel bonneville (blackbambi), antonio a. (antidodot productions), and luís ternus. journalist sérgio gomes da costa described them as “an assumed, shameless, and utterly captivating pastiche” in the portuguese music magazine blitz in 2003. this accolade came after hex released their debut single “texana azul,” part of the ‘often harmful’ ep. the single gained further recognition when it was included in the cd compilation “lisbon beats” (ministry of sound/2dance).
in 2004, hex independently released their lp “erotikoeléktrica.” they performed extensively across portugal until their disbandment in 2005, as members pursued other musical and artistic endeavors.
