drawing inspiration from georges bataille’s ‘story of the eye,’ this collaborative exhibition, curated alongside artists bárbara assis pacheco and joana linda, delved into the provocative themes of bataille’s transgressive fiction. the artworks showcased in eye  confronted societal taboos and norms, embracing the rejected, feared, and despised aspects of human experience. through our exploration, we reaffirmed that societal expectations often confine us, with attempts to break free met by societal rejection. ‘story of the eye’ provided an opportunity to confront and embrace our inner monsters, catalyzing a transformative journey into the realms of imagination within a framework of organized transgression.
