A Landscape of Failure

commissioned by production company duplacena for the messages in a peepbox project, showcased at expo zaragoza 2008, a landscape of failure was conceived to resonate with the expo’s thematic pillars: water source of life, water and its landscapes, water and human encounter, and water – shared resource. my response took the form of a short video montage, intertwining snapshots from my childhood, captured through the lens of my father’s camera. this deliberate fusion of personal history and imagery explored the symbiotic relationship between landscape and memory, blurring the lines between subject and storyteller.
