this video piece marks the culmination of the initial research phase for the performance ‘the importance of being simone de beauvoir’. created during an artistic residency at menu spastuve (arts printing house) in vilnius, lithuania, in july 2013, it represents a pivotal stage in the development of the performance.
the twelve drawings served as a visual roadmap for the video shoot. subsequently, they were exhibited as a unified piece at the ‘gender in art: body, sexuality, identity, resistance’ exhibition at the national museum of contemporary art – museu do chiado in lisbon.
