fear & feminisms

in this lecture-performance, two people, well-versed in archival knowledge of fears, stand together to evoke fears from the past, present, and future—whether autobiographical or not. these fears transcend into sociological manifestations, reflecting the political control exerted over society and individuals. internal conflicts within each performer give rise to a fragmented presentation, characterized by small acts of healing that seek to turn poison into remedy. nostalgically and personally, they evoke significant moments in feminist performance art, followed by a reflective exploration of contemporary feminist practice. the lecture culminates with the reenactment of two feminist performances from the twentieth century.

this lecture performance received the rede ex aequo prize 2015 – an event that annually honored, from 2005 to 2015, figures from the media, arts, and entertainment industries who, through their work, positively brought visibility to lgbt issues.
