island

drawing

drawing inspiration from aldous huxley’s ‘island,’ this collective exhibition explored the book’s utopian vision, where eastern and western ideals converge to prevent democratic society from descending into totalitarianism. its relevance resonated deeply with contemporary world issues, particularly those facing portugal and europe in 2012, seemingly on the brink of collapse. in response, a movement towards creation and collaboration aimed to unearth an impulse beyond mere survival. this exhibition served as an initial step towards breaking down barriers of isolation.
